@ACMEngineer @night2mainevent @susdcal7 @Flobertou Pressing blue is only "choosing to kill themselves" if people press red
English

@kris_montello @night2mainevent @susdcal7 @Flobertou so people who chose not to kill themselves got other people killed?
lol ok

not about The Beatles specifically but it does remind me of this Questlove story about Pet Sounds and J Dilla

Keith Murphy@murphdogg29
The same way I see some white folk downgrading Prince, prime MJ or even Beyonce, I see a lot of Black folk downgrading the Beatles. I get it. White artists get a lot of overhyped glory (see Elvis). But the Beatles were the real deal, mane. Broke a lot of ground. Just saying.
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou They only die if people vote red so it's just as true to say red killed them
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou If red wins, everyone who votes blue dies so if you vote red you're okay with contributing to that
English

@NOTGH_Holly Movies are magic tricks. If you decide to be a pedant you can force yourself to see the strings or the sleight of hand, but that's not the magician's fault
English

"Plot Holes" are fine.
Movies need to make emotional sense before they do logical.
If you don't notice a plot hole until waaay after the movie ends, then the writer did their keeping you emotionally invested in the characters and story.
Most plot holes are nitpicking pedantry.

What's your most controversial movie opinion?
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou Red is a guarantee you won't die but blue is a guarantee you won't kill.
English

@kris_montello @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou My argument is red is smarter as a guarantee to not die in a situation ur forced in, 🤝. No math needed in this hypothetical
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou My argument is that blue is smarter mathmatically because it requires fewer people to succeed
English

@kris_montello @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou As long as everyone is smart in their decision everyone survives. You are told to save yourself before others in most cases.
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou In contrast one button grants you a chance to save people and one makes their death more likely; it just shows what your priorities are
English

@kris_montello @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou If a button grants u life and one grants u a chance at life then one is obviously the better option, do you understand now?
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou And also as long as half of people pick blue everyone survives. That's more likely and therefore the better option.
English

@kris_montello @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou I dont think thats the goal. As long as everyone saves their ass n picks red everyone survives
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou If you goal is to save everyone, either everyone needs to vote red (impossible) or only 50% need to vote blue. It's ultimately just choosing the most likely scenario (and one scenario is impossible)
English

@kris_montello @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou Elaborate on “counting on 100% of people to agree”
Red you are SAFE, no? Blue is the only unnecessary risk because with that one you are actually counting on 50%. I could be the only red and still be okay. I cannot be the only blue and still be okay.
English

@night2mainevent @susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou To save everyone:
If you push red, you're counting on 100% of people to agree.
If you push blue, you're counting on 50% of people to agree.
So it's just math: the buttons are "rely on literally everyone" or "rely on only half of people." Why choose the impossible option?
English

@susdcal7 @ACMEngineer @Flobertou Lemme try to understand. Red is guaranteed no matter which side wins while blue is dependent on others? Why wouldnt red be the most obvious option for everyone (considering no one in this what if is suicidal but they wouldnt need the button anyway)

There are four artist deaths where I remember exactly where I was when I heard: Roger Ebert, Prince, Lou Reed, and Adam Yauch.
