I spend my days making things (mostly illustrations for children's books), procrastinating, and exploring film. My art + dogs: @krishnabalashenoi on IG.

@JennyENicholson It's truly insane that any of your work could possibly have a copyright claim against it. You hardly use clips/music, and very often don't. It's like the purest form of commentary lol, wtf, this must be v frustrating.

Been getting an unusual influx of copyright claims lately, even on older videos, and re-submissions of claims that already failed once. Warner Bros is even doubling down trying to claim ad money on my Joker review, like an actual human working there rejected my first appeal.

@BurnishedAbbey 100%. I love the film as is, but many shots from this race (+ the intercut flashbacks of Rex) and some shots from Casa Cristo (the cave, especially) look heightened but kinda photorealistic? I used to wonder the same thing and gravitate towards those shots as a kid.

There’s several shots in the first racing sequence like this that are almost completely divorced from the Spy Kids aesthetic that feel like a different, more grounded film entirely. Makes you wonder what this would’ve looked like had the Wachowski’s forgoed the goofiness.

#LeeCroninsTheMummy at #DolbyCinema @amb_cinemas Bengaluru. After watching its trailer, Went into this expecting just another routine horror; but it turned out to be a proper edge-of-the-seat ride from start to finish. Lee Cronin takes his sweet time unfolding the story, masterfully building dread and anticipation. With its connection to The Mummy and ancient Egypt, the lore is engaging enough to sustain the horror throughout without feeling forced. Atmosphere is the real strength here- dominated by darkness, with excellent sound design. The screams, whispers, and even subtle creaks of wooden panels pull you right into the experience. It’s immersive in the best way. The gore is absolutely gut-wrenching, and Lee Cronin clearly knows how to deliver on that front. If you’re planning to watch this, go for a premium format. Dolby Cinema makes a big difference - deep blacks and controlled brightness really help in those dark scenes. The #DolbyVision grading is solid, even though the overall visual style leans slightly soft. And the #DolbyAtmos mix is phenomenal; it elevates every scare. Being a scope presentation, it was perfect at this venue. If you’re a horror fan, this is definitely a theatrical watch. Pick a solid PLF screen - Dolby Cinema, HDR by Barco, or a good 4K laser + Atmos setup. @curleecronin @themummy @DolbyCinema @DolbyIn @AsianCinemas_ #Bengaluru

@JoshRaby Oh, maybe he said that elsewhere. In the video proper, he not only credits Kubrick's as being obviously better than his, but also superior to what ILM did in Ready Player One.

@krishnashenoi It was something like “What do you think? I prefer mine.” or something tossed off. I used to have a clip of it saved on my phone because it gave me a laugh. Not that he hadn’t done a fine job, but… you know.

@krishnashenoi @Browntable_Ent No, the guy mentions that he worked exclusively for the movie trailer; however, the statement about not being able to reuse material from the leaked trailer is from a tweet.

I genuinely don’t think anyone would have cared if we just got the leaked trailer in HD 😭 That’s like if a movie leaked and they changed the entire movie, why double the work just release what you’re working on.
Cosmic Marvel@cosmic_marvel

The first trailer for ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ was rushed due to the original one leaking. “Barely nothing could be reused. These shots were worked mostly from scratch for this new trailer. A lot of things have changed since then.” (via @dantonvfx)

@krishnashenoi @sithdaddyvlogs I agree. I don't like to see people like Sith Daddy feeling they can do what they like. Unfortunately there's going to be a lot more people like him than like me, so this will remain a toxic subject. But just know that many AI creators do respect art, we're jealous of you.

The source of universal hate for AI creators is a simple and obvious one – it’s envy. People wasted a huge chunk of their lives trying to master a particular set of skills that is quickly becoming obsolete. And now their self-importance hurts like a bitch, like dang, someone can create a Hollywood-looking movie in a couple of days of work in their bedroom. And instead of mastering the tools themselves and unleashing their creative potential, they become those toxic goblins, whose only source of emotional release is hate. They follow AI creators around the internet, chanting “AI slop” like some sort of zombie mantra. Their brains are completely shut down from the ability to discern real slop from something artful and creative. You guys are a fossil that is going extinct faster than a crypto coin after the rug gets pulled. Anyway, one more AI-slop video for you, my zombie-like folks. Very original, as usual.

@SplattTheTwat @sithdaddyvlogs Speaking for myself, I dislike AI art because it does not preserve many, no, any of the qualities that I value in art. Intent, specificity, idiosyncracy, skill, labor. Choice. I like art because it is a series of intentional choices, all made to say something. It is meaningful.

@krishnashenoi @sithdaddyvlogs The "entitlement" from artists is that many believe they have a monopoly on creativity. But I totally understand that mindset. I'd feel the same if I were using my actual talent to create art. I'd want to protect it. It's important AI creators respect true art.

@SplattTheTwat @sithdaddyvlogs I v much appreciate your honesty. I was trying to be honest w you too re: some of the anti-AI noise being manic. If more AI creators sounded like you and kept it real (and made meaningful distinctions between different ways of making things), this discourse would be richer.

@krishnashenoi @sithdaddyvlogs I don't hate AI but I probably would if I were an artist. I tried learning music production when I was young and I just couldn't be bothered to learn how to use the tools. AI enables lazy people like me to do what dedicated talented people can do. But it's here, like it or not.

@SplattTheTwat @sithdaddyvlogs I agree that artists (like me) see AI as a threat, for reasons that range from principled+rational to manic+incoherent. While I super dislike AI, I also disagree with many of the blanket statements made by my fellow anti-AI peers. It's complex. But I just see no envy here.

@krishnashenoi @sithdaddyvlogs It's not quite envy but it's related. They're not envious of AI output, rarely is it better than true quality creative output, but many do see it as a threat, and there's definitely an element of entitlement and contempt. But OP is incredibly entitled too.

@GhettoPat88 @sithdaddyvlogs Envy between different competitors in a market will always exist, yes, whether the work is AI or not. But what does this have to do with artists hating AI because they broadly envy AI users?

@GhettoPat88 @sithdaddyvlogs So if AI is going to level the playing field for everyone, how can there be envy in this dynamic? Envy means you don't have something that someone else has. But if everyone has access, where. Is. The. Envy.

@GhettoPat88 @sithdaddyvlogs That's v cool, but I never said anything to the contrary. By "picking those up," I was specifically talking about the monopoly on attention + a feeling of superiority. Are you saying AI artists are going to have a feeling of superiority over artists, and a monopoly on attention?

@GhettoPat88 @sithdaddyvlogs Let's say the artist loses that feeling of superiority, that monopoly on attention. The AI-user isn't picking those things up. Where is the envy? Envy of access? At worst, they will have equal access, no? Doesn't envy mean you resent someone for having something you don't have?

@curtis90335 @sithdaddyvlogs Okay, let's say artists will now make much, much less money using these tools. Why would this make them envious of AI creators, who are using the same tools? I am specifically trying to understand the envy angle here.

@sithdaddyvlogs Envy is a feeling of resentment because you want something that someone else has. What does an AI creator have that an artist does not? Even if it's so easy to create Hollywood-level stuff, no longer requiring thousands of man-hours, can the artist not just use these tools too?

@krishnashenoi It's very simple. Envy of the lack of necessity to invest thousands of hours into creating something that looks just as good as made by thousands of ppl on multi-million budget of a Hollywood studio. Its all about the value of an idea, not how it was made.
