instead of hiring 3 interns for $500 and 4 full time devs for $1000 just hire 3 really good engineers for $2k give them claude max access and let them cook cheaper and definitely faster

if youโ€™re building literally anything rn: - Claude Opus 4.7 (low effort) for v0 generation - GPT-5.5 for iteration + refinement havenโ€™t found a better combo than this rn

In April, I interviewed at 6 companies. 2 were fully remote. 4 were onsite. I got 2 full-time offers, one from a SF-based company, one from Europe. I turned both down. Not because the companies weren't great. They were incredible, technically sharp, humble, genuinely friendly people everywhere. I turned them down because I didn't perform at my best. And I knew it. The breakdown: 5 were in the DB / distributed systems / Rust space. 1 was ML. That tells you exactly where my focus is, and where I need to be sharper. The feedback I got was honest, specific, and valuable. I know exactly where I'm weak. And I'd rather fix it than fake it. Here's what every single one of these companies had in common: They all came through X (Twitter) inbound. Every. Single. One. One thing that surprised me, they all loved my projects and OSS contributions more than anything else I brought to the table. So that's the plan now: Head down. Build more. Fix what's broken. Show up better next time. Thank you X. Thank you to every engineer who took the time to give me real feedback instead of just a polite rejection. This is just the beginning. I will never give up. I'll work 10 times as hard to turn every weakness into a strength. Thank you to the engineers who believed my time was worth theirs. ๐Ÿ™

"On-site (60min x 5, all 1:1 interviews) [In-Person in SF, we pay for the trip]" this might be one of the most S-tier interview processes Iโ€™ve seen

GSoC 2026 results just dropped. 1141 people were selected out of 15k+ applicants As for me, I completely wasted the first 2 years of my degree not taking things seriously ๐Ÿฅน. This year, I didn't even apply because I'm still in my learning phase But thatโ€™s exactly why I'm building in public now. My dream is to get selected for GSoC '27 (my final year). Next year, we're in ๐Ÿซก

@krishpatel1x @stackychan_ If you are asking where can I find yc companies to work with, just cold dm in X, or you will find ppl posting startup positions here which are remote. If you re asking how can I join? Well that depends on the skill set you have vs they are looking for. Mine matched, got the job

@krishpatel1x @stackychan_ Sure. But ask me after you've tried doing stuff first. I'll answer the specific questions you have, where you are facing blockers and stuff, won't give you a guide because there is none

@stackychan_ GSoC is just one program. There are others too. Lfx, etc. and GSoC is just the starting point. Try contributing without being in any program.
