“in gaza, the relationship between the resistance & the people is that of flesh to the bone. resistance in gaza did not turn into a profession or an institution.[…] time in Gaza is not relaxation, but storming the burning noon.” ~ mahmoud darwish

ngl i feel so vindicated, i have always felt tockarzuk’s prose to be mediocre at best, celebrated the most by the vacuous literary elite. so it doesn’t surprise me that a writer, whose writing is so devoid of the dust of life has admitted to using AI.

& to shed light on such examples is some kind of anti-intellectualism? yall are telling on yourselves if you think the authors mentioned here are due to reasons other than the larger crises where so-called “radical academics” are actively incentivised to act like cops

this brilliant & erudite critique of Riley nonetheless, I am a little perplexed at the amount of defensiveness coming from people who inadvertently think the sole purpose of radical scholarship must be to defang it from a larger political project

Richard Hunsinger's strong rebuttal to Dylan Reily's piece in New Left Review, in which Hunsinger asserts that the only way we can discover capital's laws of motion is *through* the bloody struggle between slaves and masters, workers and capitalists (link below)

Learning many things from this fascinating book, including the fact that I underlined the same passage from Paradise Lost as … Thomas Jefferson.
