@krlezijana not south american, but might I recommend horacio quiroga's short stories?:) if you like poe, it will be right down your alley. quiroga's stories are much more morbid than poe's, but they have that really distinct uruguayan color

@krlezijana I saw in your bio that you’re trying to do a read around the world challenge, me too!! If you haven’t gotten to South America/Argentina yet, I recommend Kiss of the Spider Woman by Manuel Puig, it’s so good and it’s entirely written in dialogue which is interesting :))
