Sorry to say I’ve pretty much decided to scale back my posts on this platform. I’m not coming off completely, but my days of spending 4 or 5 hours a day producing posts seen by about 500 people have got to come to an end. I’m fed up on my own feed seeing countless posts about Trump or Elon Musk or random people from the USA who are constantly spouting their MAGA nonsense. For an account that is purely about Manchester United you have got to ask yourself what algorithms is Musk telling his people to inflict on others? Another huge mistake! South Africa is NOT a role player in Middle Eastern politics or conflict. South Africa's (the ANC's) numerous missteps in its close ties with the oppressive regime in Iran over the past few years are already creating major problems for our country. Why would the minister now decide to hold talks with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs? What could this mean for South Africa? What could South Africa contribute? Absolutely nothing. Once again, it's all about ideology, old nostalgic alliances (or perceptions as Iran was never really a major anti-Apartheid role player) and of course the ANC's inherent disapproval of the West, in particular the USA and absolutely President Donald Trump.
