Life after school is not to be taken lightly. It is essential to do more than merely graduate with a certificate; one should strive to create opportunities in one's environment.

The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has revealed that the government intends to allocate GH¢1 billion to eliminate the double track system in senior high schools because it has negatively impacted the education system.
He noted that part of the funding, which will be provided by GETFund, will be used to improve school infrastructure in order to support the transition away from the double track system.

@tech_twi Establishing a company may seem straightforward, but the prospect of shutting it down is another matter entirely. Once you venture into the business world, you will undoubtedly gain insight into the emotional and financial ramifications of a business facing closure.

In my view, let me explain why DStv is refusing to reduce their prices, or even if they do, it might not be satisfying. They have a long-term plan, and it’s strategic. This approach is based on market dominance, regulatory arbitrage, and price inelasticity.
They know that many Ghanaians see their service as expensive and try to find alternatives, like buying decoders from other countries where it’s cheaper. They also understand that even if their license is suspended in Ghana, those foreign decoders will still work. That means DStv will continue receiving subscription payments, but the taxes will go to the country where the decoder was purchased, not Ghana.
This is a clear case of regulatory arbitrage, where they benefit from differences in country regulations, and price inelasticity, where people keep paying despite high prices due to limited alternatives. So in the end, it’s the Government of Ghana that loses the most, not DStv. Unless DStv starts feeling the financial impact, they won’t care.
I believe the Minister should still push for dialogue and negotiation. Consumers will always look for cheaper options, but the government can’t go to another country to collect tax. Instead of threatening to suspend licenses, the government should focus on doing everything possible to bring more competition into the country. That’s what will give consumers better choices and force prices down naturally.

A lady and an Uber driver were involved in a serious altercation by the roadside after she boarded a ride from Living Room Restaurant to Amasaman in Accra.
According to the lady, the disagreement began when the driver refused to follow her preferred route, despite both her directions and the Uber app suggesting it. Instead, the driver opted for a longer route without explanation.
Midway through the trip, the vehicle broke down unexpectedly. The driver then ended the ride, with the fare showing GHS107, just a few cedis short of the original GHS115 expected for the full journey.
When she protested and refused to pay the full amount for an incomplete trip, the driver became aggressive. She said the driver hurled insults at her, body-shamed her, called her a prostitute, and nearly became physically violent.
