there's so many historical and cultural factors that affect this
- Arabs never had a major presence in subcontinent
- multitude of languages and ethnicities
- geographically very far away from Arabia
- population was mostly non Muslim even under Muslim rule

Desis have been muslim for 1200 years, so it's a tragedy that not only do most of them not understand the Quran at all, many even struggle to recite it Other muslim communities seem to be much better connected with the Quran and it's language
