Could someone from @Braiins or @ocean_mining or @GrassFedBitcoin or @mattkratter please explain WHY i would spend sats to rent hash power from one pool to mine against another one, albeit through my node, and earn fewer sats than I spend? #bitcoin

Some of the hashrate purchasers are gamblers who are hoping to score a lotto block. Others, like myself, are mining for the in order to signal for our preferred BIPs, want to turn KYC coins into non-KYC, and see it as beneficial to contribute to the security of the protocol. @BitcoinBombadil So this is basically altruism? Decentralise the network at your own expense for the greater good. Yes? Not against it, like I said, im just super curious why that fairly fundamental point is not clearer.

Because you understand Bitcoin’s purchasing power potential is dependent on its quality as Sound Money, and you want to spend some Bitcoin to help increase the overall monetary quality and purchasing power of Bitcoin.

Braiins only accepts btc as payment so you have to have some sats to spend. 2. If you spend them you can use the hash to mine fewer (cleaner?) sats back. .. 🤷‍♂️

1) You are tired of 5 companies deciding what goes into 90% of Bitcoin blocks and want to help decentralize Bitcoin mining 2) You have most of your net worth in BTC, and #1 worries you 3) You want to mine spam-free blocks and signal for BIP-110 MASF 4) You hate shitcoiners like MARA and F2Pool 5) You want freshly issued non-KYC UTXOs 6) You're an intellectually curious, self-sovereign Bitcoiner who wants to run his own node and mine at 50 PH from home, but you have high residential electricity rates

@Braiins @ocean_mining @GrassFedBitcoin @mattkratter I'm not even trying to be funny. I am missing something and I would love to know what. Why pay for hash power to pool mine and earn less? Is it really just about decentralised hashing or is there a way this is a viable way to make sats?
