anti-art???? translation is in itself an art. just ask anyone who’s ever tried to read goethe’s faust in english or any other language besides the original german. there’s several versions with several styles and interpretations. this is a whole ass career and field of study

Unpopular take maybe? But the idea that art made within one culture MUST be made accessible to every other group is absurd and anti-art. I mean us Turkish speakers have even less translations than Hispanophones, yet I’ve never seen the equivalent of this meltdown in Turkey?
