@mortgagereels @TexasFanVY10 You’re also not accounting for how much it costs to rent vs own. In the Bay Area, as an extreme example, you can rent a house for $5,000/mo, but own it for $10,000-$12,000/mo. That difference invested makes all the difference.

@TexasFanVY10 Yes, but it’s also not taking into account home appreciation and aiming low on rent increases. That said, as long as people are keeping an eye on investing & acquiring assets (even if they decide to rent) I’ll be happy

If you rent a home for $3,000 and rent increases only 1.25% a year, at the end of 30 years you’ll have paid over $1,300,000 in rent and won’t own a home.

FIRE is probably the most soul crushing lifestyle I have ever heard of and it's a terrible indictment on our society. Some of the most competent and intelligent people are structuring themselves to live as minimally as possible so they can check out of society before they're 40. Many of these people are unbelievably hard workers and incredibly intelligent. But they are so disillusioned so all of their potential goes to waste because there's no point to work for more.

After photonics, I’m shifting into plasmonics..
That’s where the bottleneck is going. Not more bandwidth.. but how you actually scale 3.2T+ without hitting physics limits.

Meanwhile the market is still stuck on $AAOI $LITE $COHR..
