The best models are simply the ones that do what you need them to do and nothing more. I don’t need a general model? I need long context, fast processing (the faster the better), and cheap to use

I’m still using a 7B model in production, mainly because it just works well for these tasks and it’s cheap to run. Why would I pay for gpt-4 exactly when I can apply a Lora over a 7B model for a fraction of the cost
