For a solid hour this morning: no one else was up, I had my solitary coffee and the lovely green petrichor of our recent rain.

I've had such wonderful students this year and it's a treat to be alongside them as they reflect on their work and celebrate their accomplishments.

@HistorianCLR Same! I watch/listen to TV while I do the monotonous parts of things (like drawing grass). Later the finished piece reminds me of those shows.

Buzzing from the FATE conference in Denver and very grateful to past Katie who apparently already drafted the assignment briefs I need for class today.

Tis the season of kicking snow piles. Highly recommend it as a way to let off steam after, say, a meeting about budget cuts.

@KJezerMorton Lots of AirBnBs will have minimal decor and some big-text-as-art in it. Not the folksy maximalism you're talking about, but another part of the trend.

Today I got to be part of a panel talking about #care, labor, and art with Carrie Scanga and @Dr_JessieW. I am grateful to get to share work and ideas with these two brilliant women and heartened by the audience's response to the work.
