Is it normal for parents not to know young kids’ weight? Possibly. But the show is painting a picture of the mother using deliberate dialogue choices, one of which is her not knowing her son’s weight all the while Joy is questioning her

@pink__bandaids @mohabboting People keep citing their experiences I don’t think it matters that YOU don’t know how much your kids weigh or that people normally don’t, what matters is the show CHOSE to show that, because they wanted to portray the mother in a specific way

@lavendertheys I think the equivalence is false because Mel’s never consistently exhibited surly behaviour. This is going to be the first time, so she’ll be naturally observed under different lens. Meek people crashing out will be seen differently vs unpleasant people doing the same thing

@ktwo0h I personally don’t think so. Santos is constantly accused of being rude to Whitaker and Mel, and just because they’re her coworkers doesn’t mean there’s zero personal relationship involved. It’s about women with very different baselines showing big emotions when pushed too far.
