Thank you to everyone who entered the #kudaforher pitch challenge. 💜 Since last week, our inbox has been flooded with really good pitches, so many that we decided to cancel the seminar we planned for March 27 and use some of the event funds to give six more grants. That's a new total of ₦10 million in grants to be shared equally by ten women-led food or hospitality businesses based in Lagos! Our winner selection process is ongoing. 😅 Watch this space for updates.

From dozens of good pitches sent our way by women entrepreneurs, our fantastic judges picked these ten businesses to each receive a ₦1 million grant based on revenue made in the past year, financial health, scalability, the founder’s capacity, operational infrastructure, competitive advantage, expected impact, and the quality of the pitch. And of course, all finalists have full Kuda Business accounts. 👏🏾

When @kudabusiness first wanted to do this, the plan was to give 4 women 1 million each but the sheer number of entries caused them to scrap that plan and increase the number to 10 women. A move I wholeheartedly support. I’m excited to read the pitches and pick our winners!!!

As part of our engineering review and commitment to durability, adjustments are being made to ensure the Atan–Lusada–Agbara Road meets the highest standards of strength and longevity. The existing road foundation remains sound, and current works are focused on delivering a finished roadway that can withstand heavy industrial traffic, high axle loads, and frequent usage, while also reducing long-term maintenance demands and ensuring better value for public funds. The 19.1-kilometre road, linking the highly industrialised Agbara axis to Lusada and Atan, remains a vital economic lifeline for industrial, commercial, and residential communities. Phase Two of the project is currently underway, reinforcing our resolve to deliver long-lasting, world-class infrastructure. With the Federal Government’s takeover of the Sokoto–Badagry Highway, which includes this corridor, the area is well positioned for sustained infrastructure growth, improved mobility, and accelerated economic development across Ogun State. As construction advances, traffic flow and road safety along this critical corridor are already improving, while overall travel time for motorists continues to reduce, further supporting productivity and daily economic activities within the axis. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #OgunState #InfrastructureDevelopment #DapoAbiodun
