A year ago, I predicted blue tarp 'DeSantisville' communities would cover the state because DeSantis, Tom Leek and the rest of the Legislature decided to pad insurance CEOs pockets instead of protecting homeowners. They passed tort reform under false premises and empty promises. Now, Florida homeowners are seeing what happens when insurance companies have no penalty or pain for bad behavior... thousands upon thousands are losing their homes. Claims are constantly denied. Insurance premiums are higher than ever with more increases on the horizon. Florida is littered with blue tarps and homes that are never repaired. A secret report, which was withheld from lawmakers when they were legislating this, reveals what we have known for years, insurance companies care about one thing... their own bottom line. The Florida Legislature was duped by the insurance lobbyists.  And now Florida homeowners are left to cover their most valued possession with a blue tarp from Home Depot.
