En el momento en que los invasores musulmanes pensaron que tenían los números, iniciaron una guerra civil que duró 15 años porque no querían vivir con los mismos cristianos que los hicieron parte del país. Miles de cristianos fueron masacrados, los musulmanes se convirtieron en la mayoría, Hezbolá se hizo cargo y el país no ha conocido la paz desde entonces. El Líbano es el primer y último ejemplo de que la coexistencia entre cristianos y musulmanes es literalmente imposible.
