I reread my blog post about leaving Twitter and was struck by the sentiment at the end. The company had gone through a lot but I was still optimistic about its future. That feels completely gone today—it feels like a death

I am really really proud that Twitter decided to use Stripe Billing and the Customer Portal to power their Twitter Blue subscriptions. I spent 5.5 years working at Twitter to help improve the product and it makes me happy that I can in some small way continue to do so at Stripe!

I can’t get fully off this hellsite until the Weird Twitter rats start fleeing the ship and if anything Twitter has become a better environment for them over the last week so FML I guess my eyes are glued here until it all burns down

Funnily enough coming clean about this helped me unblock it mentally and actually prioritize it today. It was very simple! I only saved ~$50 off the quoted cost but have tools & enough materials to re-key ~all of the Schlage locks I will ever own, plus I learned a new skill!

This is exactly why I bought a kit to rekey one of our locks and have done nothing with it for over a year 😂

@kurrik I remember learning this as a bike mechanic and always forgetting which was reverse threaded. Turns out if you don’t do it this way, one of the pedals would unscrew as your ride.

TIL that bicycle pedals thread in different directions depending on which side they’re on. Will not be taking any questions regarding how I learned this, nor how time consuming it was to learn
