On 22nd April, 2026, Shri @sanjayjavin, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), chaired a national-level webinar on #EarthDay2026 under the aegis of #EcoClubsforMissionLiFE on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet". He emphasised importance of maintaining ecological balance and raised concerns over increasing pollution, growing climate change challenges and loss of biodiversity. In a whole of government approach, Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, addressed the students and underscored the importance of sustainable use of resources. Shri Kartikeya V. Sarabhai, Founder and Director, Centre for Environment Education (CEE), delivered an insightful presentation highlighting concerns such as ocean degradation and microplastic pollution. Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, Founder, Energy Swaraj Foundation, advocated for sustainable energy practices and responsible consumption patterns. Dr. Amarpreet Duggal, Joint Secretary, DoSEL, outlined actionable steps for school students to adopt eco-friendly practices.
