Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.

Because you did not play lisubo (ask a luhya) you will not know. As kids, you do not call your uncles (and any grown man thereof) by their names, you call them “baba”.

Daktari, this was no secret. It is a moment that I'm proud of and own fully. It was a deliberate decision, shaped by a Kenyan reality I've sought your guidance on multiple times without receiving clear answers. You can accuse me of many things, but not of lacking transparency; on my concerns about the movement, certain individuals within it, or my process of consultation. In my careful analysis of the country’s current state, after bravely pursuing various strategies despite insults and surface-level support, I’ve found that learning from The Honourable @RailaOdinga offers one of the most realistic paths to achieving the change I’m after.

I found the public participation form on impeachment of DP Rigathi Gachagua at page 21 of Daily Nation. I have filled and signed it. In my view, 6 grounds are cogent whilst 5 are frivolous. Ground 3 for instance: it is the imbecilic Johnson Sakaja who should be impeached instead.

The National Assembly invites all Kenyans are to present their views on the Special Motion for Removal from Office by Impeachment of Deputy President, H.E Rigathi Gachagua. Submissions to be emailed to impeachment@parliament.go.ke on or before Saturday, 5th October 2024. The views will be collated in public hearings to be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 across the country from 8am to 5pm as per the schedule below:
