🧵Faculty Teaching the Way They Were Taught insidehighered.com/digital-learni… The concept of "teaching the way they were taught" is a problematic oversimplification of a much more complex process. I see many faculty teaching AGAINST the way they were taught.

@itsAlexCL UGH, friend - I relive an exchange between us about the job search and cringe at my ignorance. You are Alex Lange, after all; a well-known, brilliant scholar and lovely human being. I figured you were largely impervious to the harms of the job market. Forgive me.

I am in that post-graduation/ongoing job search life transition, which can be very lonely and vulnerable. I'm so grateful to have people like @miloopaa, @NicholasStroup and @AmandaMollet who keep me grounded and fuel my scholarly and self love along the way.

@MollyEHM You’re almost there! Please reach out if you need anything - another set of eyes on something, food, a walk partner, a dog park trip to pet dogs.

@itsAlexCL @StylusPub @NicholasStroup My copy is on its way from Stylus! I'm so excited for this book, and looking forward to hearing my dear friends' voices and perspectives (among others). Also, best hashtags ever.

@MollyEHM I was watching Peaky Blinders last week and saw an actor that looked familiar and made me feel uncomfortable. First thought: he must be from Game of Thrones (of course he was).

@ChelseaMDO1 I think if you're going to set a discussion post where you can't see others' posts before you submit yours, the question/prompt must be very generous and clear (and it helps to have established trust beforehand). I agree that this wouldn't always be appropriate or useful.
