Making Minnesota the best state to raise a family means focusing on affordability and addressing barriers to owning a home. We’ve made the largest investment in housing in state history and today, we rank as the top state for young homebuyers.

I’m not backing away from the fight against gun violence, and neither are folks in Stillwater. Alongside the mother of an Annunciation third-grader and a pediatric emergency physician, we’re here listening, learning, and trying to find solutions — together.

I’ve always said our nation has a sacred obligation: to prepare those we send into harm’s way, to support their loved ones when they are gone, and to provide for them and their families when they come home. To honor that call, when I was President one of my proudest accomplishments was signing the PACT Act — the most significant expansion of care and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances. This Veterans Day, we honor all the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and defend. Our nation is stronger and our democracy more secure because of their service and sacrifice.

On #VeteransDay, we focus on our nation’s sacred promise to all who served in uniform. Our moral obligation has never been greater than to ensure all Veterans receive the care and benefits they earned and deserve. Because just as on the battlefield, we leave no soldier behind, when they come home, we leave no Veteran behind.

We are eternally grateful to the nearly 300,000 Minnesota veterans who stood up to defend our freedoms here at home. The State of Minnesota will continue to thank those that raised their hand by continuing to provide the care, services, and community they need to thrive.

One of the honors of serving as President is having the "Presidential Challenge Coin" — a memento that I have handed out as President and in the years since to the folks I meet who have served our country or their communities. I was grateful to be able to greet veterans who served in Korea and Vietnam as they arrived in DC this weekend, and give them a personal token of my gratitude.

On Veterans Day, we honor those who put service before self. To every veteran and their families: Thank you for your courage and sacrifice. Our nation is stronger and safer because of you.
