Do you have an old picture of the 16th green at Pasatiempo? A selfie with it in the background? A shot of the green from the fairway? Anything of 16 would work.
Please pass it on here if you’re willing to allow us to use it in our upcoming feature on the restoration of Pasa’s 16th green. Thank you!🙏
@GovInslee Really? Housing shortage isn’t not the issue @GovInslee. This is a bigger problem that you and every state and city representative is responsible for by allowing. Quit shifting focus, start dealing with the crime and drug issues. THEY want this life and YOU allow it.
Today I stopped at one of two right-of-way sites in Seattle that are being resolved this month – this one at 1st & Michigan where about 35 people had been living. Thirty of those folks agreed to and have moved into supportive housing where they have access to services.
As We celebrate St. Patrick's Day, here is something to think about:
St. Patty's Day celebrates being Irish, but Americans used to be prejudice and racist against Irish Americans. They called them "violent and subhuman".
My point of all of this is that 52 Million Americans have Irish blood. The ancestors of the very people who don't want to talk about racism and are making laws to prevent discussing and teaching about it, were stereotyped and the target of prejudice just 120 years ago.
- In the 1880's native-born Americans censured Irish immigrants for their impoverished state and demeanor, alleged slothfulness and lack of restraint, their penchant for over-drinking, their adherence to the Catholic faith, and their potential for engaging in criminal activity and group violence.
- The critics of the Irish evaluated their character by observing their physical appearance, utilizing both linguistic and visual methods.
Let's eradicate Racism in the future of America by educating our kids about our past.
@auburn_wa@AuburnWAPolice@MayorBackus Yet another break in on the west side of town. Industrial areas getting vandalized left n right. Businesses are loosing thousands of dollars due to the ongoing crime. Get a grip on this situation @MayorBackus
@JoelMorenoKOMO@komonews Seems like this might be a better option than 50+ disgusting tents. At least then us tax payers don’t have to look at the filth. No tax payer labor dollars needed for Contruction, clearly there are plenty of capable tent builders onsite.
Olympia is paying a company to remove months worth of trash, solid waste and biohazards that sits in and among the tents of a homeless encampment near Capitol Lake. The goal is to maintain the sanitation levels moving forward. Live report on KOMO News at 11pm
@komonews This is disgusting on many levels. Two wrongs now make a right in downtown Seattle? Disturbing to say the least. This sounds like lazy leadership.
Under a plan from city councilmember Lisa Herbold, a criminal who commits theft and sells the stolen property could be absolved of both crimes if they are doing so to meet "a basic need." komonews.com/news/podcast/p…
Got my new 3 pack of readers from Costco & plan to read more than I ever have over the next month.
Tweet me your favorite reads of the last year (I tend to prefer non-fiction, Faith based and biographies more than others). Thanks!
