This is where Willson's Contreras' defense really shines through. He's had a couple of nice defensive plays through the first few games. Last year, he was 4th in OAA among all first baseman. That's a game-changer for the Red Sox.

I don’t think Team USA didn’t care. They were businesslike in their demeanor, sure. I think the narrative is that it’s hard for USA fans to care as much as other countries because their fandom lies with their MLB teams whereas other countries’ fans only have their national teams.
