While the draft pick still needs to be made and the future of Auston Matthews in Toronto needs to become more settled, both Gavin McKenna’s camp and Auston Matthews’ camp are 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 about the possibility of playing together and, in McKenna’s situation, potentially playing for the Leafs.
The opportunity to join an Original Six franchise like Toronto, play in one of hockey’s biggest markets, and potentially learn alongside a former first overall pick in Matthews is viewed as an extremely exciting situation from McKenna’s side. Matthews’ camp is also said to be very enthusiastic about the possibility.
There is still plenty that needs to play out over the coming weeks, including Toronto’s offseason plans and additional roster decisions, but early indications suggest there is strong excitement from all sides involved. 💙💪

Oilers win the lottery 4 times in 6 years: "Nothing to see here"
Islanders jump from 11 to 1 after their governor sends a letter out about losing the ASG: "just luck of the draw
Leafs jump from 5 to 1: "Omg it's so rigged"
I just want to point out....
The amount of money the United States has spent on war in the last 67 days, is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never can we afford it, it's what we choose to prioritize.
The leafs didn’t lose a game intentionally all year. Craig Berube night after night iced the A lineup. Other teams tried to lose on purpose.
The hockey gods rewarded ethics.
