This is so bad for the NBA. Cheap owners should not own pro sports teams in this country. Should be all ballmers and Cohens. Guys who spend on players and stadiums and see it as it should be: a cool thing they spend money on.

For as much as we talk about tanking from bad teams, a big problem the NBA has is that good teams know they don't have to go all out during the regular season. 1.) The @NBA should allow the first four seeds in each conference to pick their opponent. 2.) The NBA should eliminate playoff seeding for determining home court. Keep seeding for matchup purposes but home court advantage in the NBA playoffs should be determined by point differential in head to head games. 3.) Home court should get 5 games in a 7 game series instead of 4.

Watching sportswriters marvel at Wemby's ability to take 75% of 82 and multiply 50 * 35 in his head, such a wonderful microcosm of the failure of education in the US. 1. Yes other countries still teach mental arithmetic vs resorting to calculators at age 6. And yes it's useful!

Plenty of my Meta friends told me folks have been building bots that just run in a loop burning tokens as fast as they can due to this policy. It's an absolutely stupid policy and is similar to how Meta uses LoC to measure eng output. Managers are supposed to use it as a proxy and dig in to understand work complexity, but plenty of managers are lazy and just don't.

@yacineMTB This genius predicted a 70% chance that Hilary would win lmao

“Hassabis administered a subtle test on him. The two men discussed the potential of AI, and Zuckerberg expressed appropriate excitement. But then, as the dinner continued, Hassabis brought up other hot technologies: virtual reality, augmented reality, 3-D printing. Zuckerberg sounded equally excited about all of them. ‘That told me what I needed to know,’ Hassabis said.”

@idiot_onthe_net Have you considered that you don't have a clue what you're talking about?

I'm giving up drinking because of Claude Code. I need my brain to be maximally pristine so I can sling 10k LOC a day

soooo... how many papers do we think are invalidated by this? And now think about how many other bugs there must be in any re-implementations of... basically anything.
