1 week in 3 minutes - Gratitude for a beautiful week away in Gran Canaria When i quit drink & drugs nearly 9 years ago i heard my addiction screaming at me that life would be boring if i quit for good! That i would be miserable , be boring, have no fun! That i wouldn't be able to go anywhere or do anything that i loved anymore! BUT -- That was just the addiction desperately trying to talk me out of my recovery so it can talk me back into drink n drugs - it had done that so many times before! But id had enough of the cycle of misery! So i made a decision to quit for good! FOREVER! And that is still THE biggest and best decision of my life! For me and my family and all those i love Fact is - You don't stop doing the things you love just because your in recovery -- You stop doing the things that ruin the things you love (drinking & taking drugs) My addiction absolutely ruined so many holidays for years .. In fact IT ruined all the things i loved .. Now - i do all the things i love and thoroughly enjoy them for all the real reasons .. From holidays like this one full of fun, love , food , sights , sun and so much more .. To my gigs , my events , concerts, festivals, my job , my radio show , my marriage , me as a dad, a grandad , a son .... My addiction doesn't ruin any of these things anymore! I could go on and on and on about the endless rewards that come from that decision to quit forever! Nearly 9 years ago! Creative , ambitious, fitter , healthier , wealthier , trustworthy , honest , reliable ... I could go on! Sorry to bore some of you with the recovery chat but i will always be so so grateful for my recovery and weeks away with the family like this cement that even more These posts are to give hope to those who feel there is non and are desperate to change but maybe are scared! The message is - Don't let the addiction talk you out of quitting claiming you will be boring and all the things i mentioned at the start of this post .. My life was an complete mess! Life truly starts when you stop ... Don't be scared to reach out .. You are winning when you put your hand up for support! xxxx

@gerbilfishtank @QueerlyAutistic The cars are not free. You need to be on the enhanced rate of the MOBILITY component of PIP to qualify. Nobody is driving a motability car because they "sometimes struggle with anxiety" PIP is not an out of work benefit. I hope that helps.

People complaining about the Motability scheme because the cars are 'too new' or 'too nice' or 'too big' are WILD. Yes, someone who has mobility issues needs a car that is both good AND big, because it's imperative it doesn't break down AND mobility aids need to fit in it.
