@CultureCrave Yeah but you must know there already weren't any new features added. It's basically in the same maintenance mode since the end of 2023 when the very last 24.0.12 update arrived. So nothing changed really. But I'm happy they don't dump it.

let me talk about myself, the things that i want to do. (yes, X new algorithm need more talks....😅) You can skip this post completely. no tool is announced !😄 Yea, i decided not to make a discord server. so we talk here. few years ago, I started using houdini and do procedural art (yea maybe it seems like very different to me now, in fact i "was" a procedural guy😅 i used nodes, but most of the them i write vex (i already forget the syntax). i feel like it is 10 times more powerful to write vex script instead of building nodes graph. Then after a year, i finally feel that nodes doesn't make sense. yea, i feel that it is not good. i think that procedural art or 3d, should be made in code, not nodes😄 maybe many blender GN users will want to beat me up😅 i also learned zbrush. i bought a wacom and learn everyday. but the problem is that i am not good at drawing. people said that "you don't need to be a good drawer to become a good sculptist". but i am not good at drawing, so the "scale" of a human body is not easy for me😅the length of legs, the arms, the waist curvature, everything. maybe i can make monster, but i want to make cute character. Then i fall in love with renderer. Rendering engine got a lot of progress. i tried to use cycles, renderman, redshift, houdini mantra, and i love mantra the most. it render very beautiful glass. very realistic. I thought about making a renderer by C language. but at that time gpu path tracing was still early, i don't have enough confidence to learn cuda to write a tracer from zero. i love procedural art, i want to make beautiful things. but very soon, i realized that there is a limit. the complexity of the code/nodes will hit the complexity of the final art. it can contains a lot of details, but there will be pattern. Then very soon i realized that there are shadertoy, making the whole screen by GLSL and SDF tracing. It has the freedom because you can blend the light together without geometry. I had a lot of fun. but the wizards did much better than me. Then i started to do very basic modeling in blender. The real modeling like extrude, bevel, making robots and spaceship, from the boolean cut. Boolean is the heart of modern 3d modeling, it is fast and easy. But very soon i feel like i want to cut the solid with different shapes and depth. then, i started to make my own tools. because i want to do modeling easier. I feel that blender lacks many basic functions. I made Attach Align, and then tools like Ballpen. I had great fun, and finally made Grid Modeler, then modeling tool that i still use it everyday. Grid Modeler concept is heavily inspired by autodesk fusion360, my favourite 3d program. although i used wing3d, sketchup, modo, but nothing beat a CAD software. fusion360 is a CAD, it can make solids in perfect way. i love it, and it affected me to make Grid Modeler. The text is too long😅maybe not much people want to read. The future, I think that, i mean i predict that, blender team will rewrite the whole blender. they will give up the current api, break all current addons. i feel that it is their long term goal. if they break the bpy/bmesh modules, all tools gone. it is just my prediction. And maybe one day, i will write a 3d modeling tool. Just a small tool, not function rich like blender. Now it is easy to just ask chatgpt "write my a 3d program using OpenGL" and it will give you all code in 1 minute😄 but it is just the basic frame. The opengl rendering code is everywhere on the web. Github has a lot. The value is about the design and the design of the tools. i hope that one day i (retired ?) have the free time to do it. If we say our goal, we will lose the motivation to finish the goal. this is why i didn't mention this in the past😄 I mean, if i say it, i may never do it. but recently, i feel that things change so fast. AI change things, and also the world. (i never talk politics on the web). The world change, so i may not have the time to finish it. just say it here. It is not a promise😄 write too long!
