Absolutely gutting for him and the team. He, Youri, McGinn, Onana are one of my favourite ever Villa midfields and the way he dovetails with Youri in particular is elite.
Also brings into focus that on a "competition", the team in third have artificial glass ceilings to stay under while the team in second can spend with impunity despite being told some very serious charges that could ( if found guilty) have stopped Semenyo and Guehi walking through the door.
That's not a competition, regardless of the names of the two clubs and would be valid if you swapped Villa and City situations.
