@jonaaronbray The round hit his plate and ricochets into his neck . The shooter obviously wasn't aiming for a neck shot. That's why you see the plate 'square' move first.

@GuillemBalague I'm a Man United fan but have rarely heard good things about Queiroz's character.

Yesterday Tottenham goalkeeper Antonín Kinský was substituted and left the pitch in tears. Football can be unforgiving and one moment can mark a player for years It brought back the memory of another night. 9 November 2003. Sánchez Pizjuán. A brilliant Sevilla were already 3–0 up when, after just 25 minutes, Real Madrid manager Carlos Queiroz substituted a young centre-back: 21 year old Rubén González. He walked off devastated, sat on the bench. And cried. In a team full of Galácticos, the young defender became the easy target. He remembers not even being at fault in all the goals. The substitution stayed with Rubén for years. So did something else. On the bus to the airport after the match, president Florentino Pérez walked to the back where the young defender was sitting and gave him the support he needed in that moment. Queiroz never spoke again with Rubén during the months he remained at the club. That season would end badly for Madrid anyway, they did not win a single trophy. Defeat in the Copa del Rey final to Zaragoza. Elimination by Monaco in the Champions League quarter-finals. Valencia winning La Liga. Real, Rubén says now, was too big for Queiroz. And he admits it was for him too. Soon he left on loan to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Then Albacete. Then even a return to Real Madrid B to reset his career. And three years after that evening, he left the club. He had come through the Real Madrid academy, but played only 11 official matches for the first team. Football took him all over the place, far from the biggest spotlight: Albacete, Racing Santander, Mallorca, Osasuna, later even Azerbaijan and India. A professional life rebuilt after one of the toughest nights. Years later he returned to the Bernabéu. This time the stadium applauded him. Rubén cried again — standing next to his wife — overwhelmed by the warmth of a crowd that wanted him to know something simple: He was appreciated.

Is Nayim’s wonder strike for Real Zaragoza against Arsenal the greatest last second winner goal in football history???

@AdamJoseph He has far more United appearances than Paul Scholes had by age 20. Buying his own hype is not a great look. He can go join Garnacho

A gay couple tarred and feathered by the IRA in 1971. Remind me, Michelle. How did pride go and did you tell anyone there that there was no alternative?

@LiamPaulCanning With these tactico projects if there is no early impact players will lose faith in the system. It hasn't happened, we should be changing manager now

@TheNotoriousMMA Guinness tastes far nicer than Forged and the other small breweries. Get on the Murphys if you want decent stout cheaper 😉

Dreading the absolute worst for Sunday away at Selhurst Park. Could be a devastating result. No Cunha is a massive, massive loss.

@Hayles_101 Agree with that and not just the for the money. He's currently playing out of position so why go on. He is a united legend and worldclass player but nobody should be safe

@Hayles_101 Heads should roll after that. We've seen some dirge and lack of effort over the years but that took the biscuit. Genuinely scamming and insulting the fans last night.

Had nothing to say last night. It's a boring merry-go-round. One step forward and three back. It'll never change. Amorim's exit will be brutally slow and painful. God knows where we'll be then. Hard to keep interested when it's all so mind numbingly inevitable

Bad one for Man United last night, but there doesn't need to be an Amorim pile on. He was manager of the month in October. Bench not filled with options after injuries to Sesko and Cunha. Still needs midfielders and wing-backs. The squad is a work in progress.

There is a lot you can criticize Amorim for tonight but the lack of intensity, desire and pedestrian movement Utd played with for a significant part of the game is 100% on the players.
