Little girls in the film cavorted and writhed on command like slaves in a harem for a mass audience that consists of perverts. The film's "story" is just a cover so cinema snobs can enjoy the perversion without the guilt.

You'd have to actually consider what it meant for professional actors to portray deeply wounded little girls trying to make sense of their own sexuality.
