You don't like the "progressive display"? Say only Command Palette and Command Bar Display were visible, with the latter being a toggle that loops between Normal, Hidden, Lines and Auto. The latter being the progressive display that appends after the first fixed two (prevents flickering height)

@kzu I was fixing it by showing the CTRL+G CTRL+B in front so that it is more visible. Having the command bar is still important to understand which keyboard shortcuts are accessible in which context so I would not remove it but it could have another mode that hides it entirely.

@xoofx With the amount and contextual nature of commands, perhaps the shell should just bite the bullet and go VS Code way of not showing them at all and rely on Ctrl+P. Perhaps only show them when pressing Ctrl, then filter as soon as you press the letter (i.e. G)?

@brivael They are busy catching-up ("whatever they can do, we can do"). It might be taking a tad longer since there are likely a few pending meetings, committees, budgets, votes, various compromises, vendors, and government officials to work out first...

One thing I noticed (in another shell-based app of mine using your TUI) is that the command bar at the bottom very quickly runs out of space, especially if you use key combos. I wonder if there's a way to make the shortcut keys more compact somehow... hiding them until ctrl/shift/alt is pressed?

@codemullins I check it because ironically enough its heavy-handed moderation acts as a quality control against AI spam but its own users are such gigantic assholes that a lot of useful information gets crab-potted out of existence
