CASPR, and our research on GLP-1s for opioid use disorder, got a shout-out in this fascinating convo between @naval and @ChrisWillx . They discussed the ideas that will shape the future, and call out GLP-1s to treat addiction. 5:30 for Naval's shout-out! youtu.be/RLGLEaAhVJQ?si…

my favorite lynch moment isn’t a film scene but a memo to the projectionists for mulholland drive. caps lock type juxtaposed with a gentle tone, visual illustration for clarity, perfect use of red, and a very saucy signature as the cherry on top. graphic design masterclass

GLP-1s and addiction, "cravings are a more specific and more helpful way to look at what’s happening in addiction. And if you reduce those cravings, you can give people a chance, some space in their lives to address the other patterns, the other circumstances that have led them in that direction"
Chris Hayes@chrislhayes

This conversation with my friend @nreville about his quest to find a medical cure for addiction is one of the most hopeful, best conversations we've had on #WITHPod podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/wei…

You MUST watch Ctrl+Alt+Desire as soon as you are able (streams on Paramount+). I could not pull myself away from the screen … all of the ills of the 21st century intertwined in glorious, gory technicolor. My brother also was the development coordinator on it :)
The Daily Beast@thedailybeast

"Director Colin Archdeacon’s three-part docuseries 'Ctrl+Alt+Desire' is, on the one hand, a cautionary tale about the dangers of seeking refuge from problems—especially loneliness—online," writes @nschager trib.al/qZu06EO

@NickBurns I have noticed a slight difference in how gift as verb gets used … somehow there’s a slightly tongue-in-cheek tone that casts doubt on the desirability of the object or the motivation of the giver

Our so-called defenders of basic standards in English usage have been absolutely SILENT regarding the toxic encroachment of the use of the word "gift" as a verb ("I gifted him a pen"), instead of the correct usage, "give" or - for emphasis or to avoid ambiguity - "give as a gift"

One thing Chicago - among other places - has in abundance, but that is sadly scarce in NYC, is the "Big Restaurant": a large restaurant where you can easily go with 4-7 friends and order food lavishly, continuously and at great length, at only moderate expense.
