@SnakeFGC420 @kitsuneredFES Yeah at arounf the 6th gen they figured out how to circumvent the limitation. GameCube also let you use PAL60 on certain games and the toggle was system-wide on Wii. So by the 2000s region locking wasn't a necessity anymore but it was standard so it stuck.

@l0nkdev @kitsuneredFES At the same time many PAL ps2 games had an option to switch to 60hz that worked without issues on most CRTs that weren’t actual garbage (and if they were it would still work, just in black & white).

Genuinely what was even the point of region locks in older consoles? It feels like it's only there to be an inconvenience and nothing else. Was it really that big of a deal to companies if someone played a Japanese game on an American console?

You can beat the game only using Story/DLC blades it's not that big of a deal teebeeaitch. If you have the DLC the game just gives you a bunch of the better Core Crystals too so you'll be stacked early game

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition screenshots! 60 FPS at 4k Resolution is nice, but what Xenoblade Chronicles 2 really needs is an update to the gacha mechanics. Every rare blade should be available for in-game purchase. I hope that's something they implement.

@junezdollhouse Honestly the bloom really was my main problem. The Wii and GC did not have enough resolution to let you see through all that the game was so unintelligible for me at times.

@l0nkdev i grew up with twilight princess and enjoyed it a lot! I think it gets a lot of overhype nowadays due to nostalgia, but my only issue with it was the tutorial really dragging its feet and the sheer amount of bloom the graphics had

Your entire franchise has had TWO games since it's inception in 2013. Xenoblade released in 2010 and has had FOUR 100+ hour JRPGs, with THREE 10-40 hour DLCs for it. And A new game was JUST ANNOUNCED yesterday lmfao. We aren't the same buddy.

Genuinely ruins the water temple for me. Favorite temple in zelda because it actually requires proper layout memorization and this robs part of the fun for me.

There's a lot of debate around OOT 3D, and I'll have to say that I do consider it to be inferior to the original version because they ruined the water temple with Simon-says-lines for you to follow. It's still a fine remake, but I'd recommend playing the original first.
