We all struggle in life at various times but a little message of hope from myself and Sienna today as we walked down Hope Avenue with her looking stunning in her pink flamingo 🦩 bandana. She had been used for puppies. Had no fur. Had bad blood issues. She was terrified of humans and stared at the wall. She was shaking with fear. Alone in the Thai countryside trying to just survive. I was an alcoholic. Suffered (and still do) from depression and anxiety and hated my life. I ended up in hospital at rock bottom from drinking. If you are out there struggling with anything from a tough relationship to abuse or addiction or just loneliness. Maybe you want a fresh start and can’t see the wood from the trees. You could be suffering from any of the thousands of things that us human hide and worry about. Just remember that no matter how bad it seems or how low you are a comeback is always possible. Sienna and myself are proof of that. As I waked her down Hope Avenue today and took her photo and told her about her new forever home I could see her tail up In the air and we both had a pep In our steps. Things can and will always get better ❤️

Imagine if the Garda National Immigration Bureau were to place just one Garda costing €100,000 a year including all his expenses on the Enterprise train. All they'd need do is catch and return ONE illegal asylum seeker to recoup that cost for the State.

@la_syrinx @TinaMax8 Thanks! Missed that. So presumably the injured man has now recovered after he was reportedly "recovering in hospital" after the building collapse. The entire building is owned by John McGahon as belatedly declared by him last year.

Still no word on the legal costs that FG senator John McGahon must pay his assault victim, maybe Breen White's solicitors phone was engaged all of yesterday? Might journalists also seek a comment on McGahon's building collapse and condition of the critically injured passer-by?

Anyone in Dundalk know what happened to the local man who was critically injured when FG senator John McGahon building collapsed last year? McGahon hasn't commented (not even to wish the man well?), and there's been no legal action for compensation. Did the man die?

Are both Gardai still in the service? Why didn't they turn up for the trial in 2008? And what future can they have with the Gardai in light of this civil compo case, heard before a jury?

Not often you see a jury-trial for a compo case, but in cases of false imprisonment, you can still get them. And this is an interesting case with two Dublin gardai, Daniel Barry and Jonathan Petrie, both from Pearse Street station in 2008...

Noel, It does not matter who attacked the three elderly they are in hospital tonight and one is fighting for her life either way this is not good and not how an elderly persons should live out their twilight days, particularly if there is previous form, Either way these ladies were let down, I just hope they are ok.

OMG the poor woman A PENSIONER is fighting for her life in hospital after she was attacked in Dundalk this afternoon. The woman, in her 80s, is understood to have been targeted by a man with a hatchet. Two other people were also injured after the frenzied attack after they are believed to have gone to the woman's aid. The incident happened close to Louth County Hospital. Gardai rushed to the scene after an alarm was raised by a neighbour and arrested a man. He's being held on suspicion of assault causing harm. Gardai aren't looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. The investigation is being run by officers from Dundalk Garda station. Officers do not believe the incident is terrorist related. One source said: "This was a shocking attack on three defenceless people.
