Most of the progressive spaces in India including the student unions are elitist. Basically, they are just a bunch of rich and upper middle class kids who want to feel good about themselves for not being a bigot. True progress is not possible without being inclusive of the poor!

@crankybabygorl the practice of asking references is a deliberate form of control that employers exercise over workers. this is why most workers don't raise grievances no matter how toxic their work environment is because they don't want their employer to create issues when they're moving out.

uniting different castes on the basis of an imaginary fear of muslims isn't being anti-caste. in fact, marginalized caste people have been persecuted under bjp rule across religious lines. an anti caste movement would end caste discrimination while also ensuring caste justice.
