I think your comment is accidentally correct. Mutually assured destruction is no longer doctrine in the west. A strategic exchange is now considered winnable. Western forces keep attempting to provoke a strategic response it seems based on target choice. Seems insane to me not simple wargaming.

Regardless of the undesirable personalities of the political leadership, from a simple wargaming perspective western forces are putting Russia in check by flipping the Ukrainian territory to its influence. I don’t see how Russia can tolerate that move regardless of who is the leader and what their long term goals are.

You use “stones” to represent actions that are resourced out. There is no random resolution. It became one big “attack with everything” each round. Given it was following the Outstanding 1st RPG (FASERIP) and the Very Good 2nd RPG (SAGA the card system). This was a major disappointment and probably the least remembered system. Did anybody out there actually get a campaign off the ground?

I’m an artist. I understand how light works. The Book of Eli (2010) should have hard cut to credits the moment the reveal lands. That final beat is powerful and complete on its own. The extra postscript with Mila Kunis only softens an ending that was already doing exactly what it needed to do.
