“Boston isn’t a real city” okay but can you name a more iconic urban design failure than Boston’s famous North-South station disconnect? Name me another major city with two primary transport/rail hubs that are not themselves connected by rail in any way, I’m waiting!

I have to ask: do Americans (especially those from NY & NJ or Chicago) really say "breaking balls/busting balls" similar to how Brits will say banter or "taking the piss". Or is that just movie/TV wiseguy talk?😉

@centristmarxist And doing the latter would change the context for workers in the UAW and other organized groups which might open the possibility for leaving. But the only reason all the democratic union people fight the UAW bureaucrats is because they want to be them. Witnessed this myself.

@centristmarxist There is no reason to destroy existing organized labor because it is so marginal and it is only in the way if you want to replace it as the labor wing of the Democratic Party. It would be very easy to organize workers who are not in the UAW.
