"THERE'S NOTHING AS GOOD AS A BLEEDING CHILD": MAN SHARED VIDEO OF 6 MONTH OLD BABY BEING ANALLY R*PED WHILE CLUTCHING TEDDY BEAR
A man" who "cannot be named due to reporting restrictions" is to be sentenced later this month after a Limerick court heard of how he talked about torturing, raping and killing children, and shared videos of a little girl being “violently raped” while holding a teddy bear.
The accused told Gardaí to “come back in another year, and there’ll be another phone” containing graphic images of children. It heard the accused sent messages describing how he would be able to “find a little girl for you to rape”.
The accused also states online that he can “f*** any kid I can get alone”, and said “most kids I see I want to rape”. Additionally he stated there is “nothing as good as a bleeding child” and that he would “love to torture a child”.
He is charged with 14 offences pertaining to possession, production and distribution of child sexual abuse material or CSAM [C-Sam]. Which is unfortunately known in Irish law as "child pornography" contrary to the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act, 1998 (the word pornography somehow implies a willing sexual partner was involved).
Detective Garda James Muldowney, of the Divisional Protective Services Unit (DPSU), advised the material was “some of the most extreme" child sexual abuse material he has seen “after 10 years” working as a Garda in that specialist unit.The accused has pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was arrested and charged in October 2025. Prosecution barrister John O’Sullivan said the child sex abuse material found on the accused’s devices is of the “grossest nature”.
The accused man downloaded dozens of videos of a graphic nature, which were distributed to "unnamed individuals" on apps like Snapchat, Sessions and TeleGuard. The court heard the unidentified man doesn't take his medications for HIV positive and has written online "You can help me find lads to infect today”.
The man also shared family photographs of his young relatives online. The accused’s barrister, Liam Carroll BL, said that “obviously the offences are serious” but that these “type of offences could only happen in the context of someone having completely lost themselves” (strange way to excuse sick behaviour).
While it is absolutely correct to protect the identity of some young victims (by not naming the man), it does mean the public will never be notified of who he is, and the man recieves protection through protection of those he shared images of.
Also, regardless of a convicted paedophile's identity being revealed, the public are not notified of where they live after they serve time, as the sex offenders register is not public. After a person is removed from the sex offenders register they are no longer monitored (it is difficult to ascertain what level of monitoring even takes place), and sex offences on the lower end of the scale can result in the offender not being added to the sex offenders register at all.
In the case we are discussing, a victim impact statement written by the mother of the young relatives was read out in court. She said she was “shocked and horrified” when she received a call from the garda and that she “felt sick” upon hearing the images were shared with “paedophiles” on the “dark web”.
The defense for Mr Carroll said there was “no evidence of any hands-on” offences, and that his client engaged in downloading and distributing the material (counsel neglects this material involves real victims) and argued his client "han not acted out any of the violent fantasies”. He added his client is a “self-confessed sex addict” and “somebody who is damaged to some degree” after having been sexually abused as a child.
The court heard how the accused contracted HIV after becoming a "sex worker in the UK" and "having had relations with in excess of 2,500 men”. Mr Carroll asked for leniency. Sentencing will take place on July 30th 2026.
