Desperate times call for desperate measures. Burlington residents have reached the point where enough is enough with break and enters, home invasion threats and car thefts.

At the beginning of May, someone told me affluent pockets of Burlington were starting to organize over violent home invasions and targeted car thefts. Tonight, it turned into a packed community meeting in Roseland. Residents say they’re scared. Some are now hiring private security patrols. Police and city officials were called in to answer questions. One resident: “People are being caught, arrested… and turned loose again.” When communities like Burlington start mobilizing like this…you know the concern is becoming real.

NEW: NYPD crushes more than 200 illegal mopeds as the city ramps up seizures of the illegal rides. The 200 scooters are just a small portion of the nearly 6000 that have already been seized. Mopeds are legal; however, thousands of people living in New York aren't registering them, aren't insured, and don't have licenses. The CRTC just announced it will tax streaming services an extra 15% to support “Canadian content.” This is up from their first demand of 5%— which is in the courts. That’s exactly how you drive business out of Canada and increase prices for consumers. As Canada approaches the reviewal of CUSMA, the Liberals are doubling down on an existing trade irritant and leaving Canada in a precarious position.

A Good Sauga Samaritan confronted a group of four allegedly impaired individuals who crashed into parked cars at a #PortCredit residence. According to the man filming, the suspects had no insurance and three managed to flee the scene. #BREAKING - One person who recently returned to Ontario from East Africa is being tested for the Ebola virus, though there is NO confirmed Ebola cases in Ontario. Full statement from a spokesperson for the Minister of Health below; "A patient is being assessed in hospital following recent travel to East Africa. Out of an abundance of caution, clinicians are testing the patient for a range of possible infectious diseases, including Ebola virus given their recent travel history, in accordance with established clinical protocols. All appropriate infection prevention and control measures are in place. There are currently no confirmed cases of Ebola in Ontario."
