Agents gatekeep their houses, supply itself is fragmented so the data remains unstructured. Network effects are not there because immediately someone finds a house - they no longer have use for the platform, house hunting is a very short term process, nobody wants to do it for a long period. Demand is hyperlocal and urgent. A dedicated platform for this isn’t needed. Facebook/whatsapp groups work just fine. Introducing a dedicated platform/app doesn’t improve the experience - you can argue that it even worsens it because of the added friction .

About 15% of students at the student venture capital grant program by Min of Education pitched student housing solutions. If it’s such a problem in universities, then why is it being solved in such a fragmented manner?
