We’re in a building process, it was neglected for so long and now has real potential to eventually go full time and start looking at promotion

Slough Town Football Club can confirm that Wiktor Makowski has completed a permanent transfer to Worthing for an undisclosed fee. Whilst disappointed to see Wiktor leave the club, following conversations with him and his representatives in January we were aware that he had a desire to seek a new challenge in the summer upon the expiration of his contract. Therefore, the club felt it was in the best interests of all parties to explore opportunities for an earlier exit with a transfer fee. @GlenSTFC @sloughtownfc It’s easy to get emotional about a player sale but i see what’s going on behind the scenes and i know our club is in safe hands and will grow stronger in the years to come and will compete at higher levels

@lambert_ellis @sloughtownfc The fee would have been low considering he could have joined them for free in a few weeks time. I’m not blaming any player it’s more our situation as a club that’s frustrating. It’s not much fun watching Déjà vu every season seeing players develop knowing they’re off soon.

@GlenSTFC @sloughtownfc When Ash took over we had 1 academy side, we now have have 11 with more being added next season. We’ve also promoted over 10 academy players into the first team set up as well as selling players on for fees which the club hadn’t achieved since Lloyd Owusu in the 90’s

@GlenSTFC @sloughtownfc Maybe if you look deeper you will see a structure being implemented to allow the club to grow and be sustainable in the future, not all clubs can boast big investment so a club like ours needs go build foundations to survive which requires patience.

@GlenSTFC @sloughtownfc If the player doesn’t want to stay what do you expect them to do? Sit by and let him leave in the summer and get peanuts for developing his career?? Be realistic and understand where the club is currently, won’t always be the case

@sloughtownfc It seems the club are happy being a stone stepping club but this fan isn’t and for me we’ll never progress this way. We may as well release any other decent player now and get it done with.
