Figure skating is the only sport where art AND athleticism are judged at the same time.
Most professional skaters train over a DECADE for 4 minutes that can crumble in seconds.
And THAT is why we love and hate it.

Team event should’ve left with the Russians (after all, it was created for their sake) & not because it negatively impacts performance in the IE (it probably doesn’t). Simply, figure skating is not a team sport. We shouldn’t be awarding Olympic medals like it is one.

While it's true that figure skating isn't really a suitable team sport, I'd keep it for its biggest advantage of all - encouraging federations (especially small ones) to invest in all 4 disciplines without neglecting any (best example is obviously Japan, but there are others).
