Personification come to life with our 5th graders! After reading The Dark by @lemonysnicket, and diving deeper into POV and Personification, students chose an object around the library, and thought about what POV they would use and what verbs would support best! @LIBRARIESinRISD

A fun fact is that in my school district having silent reading time like we used to is heavily discouraged bc so many kids can’t read fluently at their grade level that it’s not considered meaningful instructional time by the powers that be but research tells us 1/
