@bgswanson My Teams status message at work permanently and politely cites nohello.com by name. It's delightful when colleagues rise to the challenge.

Pet peeve: "Do you have a minute?" on Teams/Slack/etc Just ask your question "Do you have any feedback on X?" or be more specific with your ask: "Do you mind if I come by to discuss X?" Come at me with "Do you have a minute?" & I'm going to fight hard my desire to answer "No"

I learned so much from this virtual forum last year. The Women's Advocacy Center's Suburban Community Forum is happening Thu Sep 29 (9AM - 1PM), and I certainly recommend it for anyone wanting to better understand domestic abuse. Visit womensadvocacycenter.org to learn more.

Hey @MicrosoftTeams , can you tell me why there's no 'get link to chat/thread' permitted for private channels? All I need is a URL that resolves to the target -- its not like you're not going to interrogate user identity when the recipient tries to traverse the link anyway!

@vonralls @JoePFerguson Just as learning a second programming language is well-served by many lessons of learning your first, learning to accurately and concisely express yourself in prose can inform how you ensure same in the code that you author.

@vonralls @JoePFerguson This raises the question: why be a good writer? Perhaps the answer is that there is value is expressing yourself with an accuracy that serves your position well and an efficiency that serves your audience well.

Take Me Out To...TOTALITY? There are 13 minor league baseball teams that play their home games inside the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse path of totality. It will soon be time to start planning those eclipse delays again... @MiLB @bensbiz

The most dangerous thing about carrying a cell phone everywhere is that you're never bored. Boredom, like pain, is a signal.

@bgswanson @dominos Economists say the workers shortage is complicated, but "make more" might not be required for folks wanting to keep the virus out of their home and avoid the "hardly worth it to begin with" hassles of minimum-wage work. I could believe it.

Pandemic day 14,742... Every pizza joint except @dominos has stopped deliveries to our area, and they randomly have a 2+ hour delivery time on pizzas. Why won't people work for minimum wage? It can't be that they make more staying at home earning pandemic unemployment...

We work within many constraints, and finding new ways to lessen our stress and anxiety, better our work, and strengthen our output must remain constant.

The better we work, the better our output. The better our output, the better prepared we are to begin new improvements which again lower our stress and anxiety.
