@ByrneHobart It's harder with sciences because of how much important work are articles in journals, and not in singular books.

You can debate about exact titles, but it's not hard to come up with a list of books that count as part of the literary canon, including fiction and liberal arts broadly. But has anyone tried to create a canon that either includes STEM books or consists entirely of them?
