Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since my husband passed away. I still shake when I say or write those words. I still pray I am going to wake up from this nightmare. My husband and I met in the summer of 1983. I was 16. He was 17. We became best friends immediately. We rarely went more than a few days without seeing each other. He graduated a year before me and went off to college, but drove the two hour drive home every weekend to see me. Cell phones weren’t a thing so we wrote each other since calls were long distance and expensive. I would have a letter in hand on Wednesdays. I would read the letter over and over. And look forward to Friday evening when we could hang out again. I got pregnant four months after I graduated high school and we would get married a couple months later. He finished college and eventually we would move back closer to family. We had three children. Two girls and a boy. I went to college and got my teaching degree. My husband provided. No teaching jobs would be available so I picked up a camera and became a photographer. He provided. Our middle child, became sick with leukemia at the age of 28. I took care of her, my husband provided. She relapsed twice, and lost her battle at the age of 34. We grieved but he continued to provide as I found my way back. The photography business dried up in those years I took care of my daughter. I started tutoring and making tallow products. While I had some income coming in, my husband was who really the one who kept our heads above water. In February, I came home to find he had fallen from our roof. They were never able to revive him. In four years, I lost both him and my daughter. I watched my son get raided by the FBI and sent to prison for j6 in those four short years also. The pardon came and it felt like maybe life would get easier. But here we are grieving again. I’m now the one to provide while I grieve the loss of him and my daughter . I am trying to find my way. As sales come, I hope I can make it on my own. I suffer from orthostatic tremors wish is a weight bearing tremor that happens when I stand still or walk slow. So I have to make this business work.
