Today marks a solemn anniversary for family & friends of fallen SGT Steve Owen. The widely-respected 29-year LASD veteran was killed in the line of duty on 10/5/16. His death was a staggering loss for all who knew him but his legacy continues to shine.

We extend heartfelt condolences to the Manhattan Beach Police Dept. following the tragic loss of Officer Chad Swanson in a traffic collision early this morning. The 13-year MBPD veteran is survived by his wife and three young sons. Please keep the Swanson family in your prayers.

This evening, we received the heart-wrenching news of the tragic, line-of-duty death of #LASD Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, who was shot while sitting in his patrol car in Palmdale. We extend our deepest condolences to his family for their unimaginable loss.

National Police Woman Day is celebrated each year on September 12th and PPOA is honored to acknowledge women across the nation who serve as dedicated public safety professionals.

At 8:46 a.m. (EDT) on this date 22 yrs ago, our nation endured the 1st of a series of terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of 2,997 Americans. We will always remember the fallen & honor the 343 firefighters, 60 peace officers & many civilians who died while helping others.

We are heartbroken to learn of the line-of-duty death of Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Harris. PPOA extends heartfelt condolences to his wife, family and all of our brothers and sisters with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

We are truly saddened to learn another California LEO has been killed in the line of duty. Selma PD Officer Gonzalo Carrasco Jr. was fatally shot yesterday while responding to a suspicious person call. Our condolences to his family and everyone at Selma PD.

Hearts are heavy for the LASD family following the death of Detective Steven Lim in an auto accident while driving home from work last night. The 26-yr veteran is survived by his wife and five children. We express our condolences to the Lim family at this extremely difficult time
