I’d be very surprised if, on paper, Judge ends his career with better numbers than Mike Trout. If I had to pick one player’s career to start a team with, I’d likely pick Trout. But Aaron Judge is always going to be more of an iconic baseball figure than Mike Trout will ever be. Trout chose to play his entire career for an extremely unsuccessful franchise in a market where the Dodgers are king and the Angels are an afterthought. Aaron Judge plays under the bright lights of NYC and is on national TV almost every week. Aaron Judge will go down as one of the greatest right handed hitters of all time. Mike Trout will go down as the best player that nobody ever really cared about.
