Winds are picking up across the area behind a cold front. Cooler temperatures will settle in for Monday after a fourth day of record breaking heat.

A cold front is currently moving thru the Texas Panhandle. As it pushes thru the South Plains, winds will be gusty from the NE at 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. Patchy blowing dust is possible. #txwx #lubwx #kamc

What a Spring Break it was in Lubbock. We started the week off with a hard freeze and ended Saturday with the highest temperature ever recorded in March.

Another hot day is expected across the area, Sunday, before a cool front brings some relief from the record heat. Winds will begin the day from the west and will shift from the north at about 25-30 mph.

Lubbock has already officially reached 94°F, breaking the daily high (93°F set in 1997). We'll see how much hotter it can get and if can break the all-time record high for March (currently 95°F, reached on 3/20/2026, 3/11/1989 and 3/31/1946). #lubwx #txwx
